Teaching philosophy
Teaching and mentoring others, at any level of skill, is a wonderful way to connect. I love to watch people blossom. Every person has their own unique knowledge and skills and perspectives to share, and I always learn something new.

Visual art is a form of language, a method of communication, just as any other form of art is also an expressive language. The fundamental skills of visual art (drawing, composition, form) are analogous to vocabulary and grammar for the written/verbal word.
I want my students to understand the fundamental (classical) skills, but also the poetry and the history and the contemporary meanings of art, so that they will be empowered to express anything they desire.
